Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted at That Artsy Reader Girl. Each week there is a new topic, and you compile ten books that fit the theme. You can find more information here.

It’s been many a moon since a TTT graced the blog, and a while longer since I set out a TBR for the coming season. I have entered 2023 with much fewer ARCs than in the last few years, and so I’ve been mood-reading from my own shelves, and the trend will probably continue. But there are a few newly released books I’ve been very excited about and will try to get to sooner rather than later! So, here is my very loose plan for what I’d like to read in the next couple of months:

The Faithless by C.L. Clark has just come out (I’m writing this on 7/03 and have just been notified my copy is ready for collection so I’m very excited) and I am determined to get to it right away and not let it languish on my shelves.
I have been binge-reading Genevieve Cogman’s Invisible Library series, and though I took a break to give a few other books a chance, I will probably pick up very shortly with book 4: The Lost Plot.
Heartland by Lucy Hounsom is a reread, as last year I reread the first book in the series, Starborn, and have been meaning to continue with it. If I can finish the series before May, I am planning to do a series review for Wyrd & Wonder!
The Earth Transformed by Peter Frankopan is probably the most ambitious on this list, because this is a *chunky boy* at over 700 pages on the natural history of our planet. But I will do it!
I now own both of this series by Victoria Aveyard, and so if I don’t read Realm Breaker soon I fear another one may come out before I’ve even opened the first page.

Another series I’ve been racing through is The Expanse by James S.A. Corey, and so I’d like to get to book six, Babylon’s Ashes, quite soon, though I’m scared of what I might find there…
I got a lovely advanced copy of City of Lost Chances by Adrian Tchaikovsky and even had the fortune to get him to sign it at FantasyCon last year, but have I read it? No… I think I needed to be in a less distracted mindset for it, and hopefully that is coming soon.
The middle of a Top Ten Tuesday post seems the perfect place to mention for the first time on the blog that my husband and I are expecting our first child, and There’s No Such Thing as ‘Naughty’ by Kate Silverton is the next parenting book on our list. This is also the reason I am redoubling my efforts of reading books I own, because I know my free time is running out!
The Endless Song by Joshua Phillip Johnson is the highly anticipated sequel to The Forever Sea and it’s another newer release I’m hoping not to keep waiting too long.
Lastly, a book I’ve had on my shelves for a while is Honeycomb by Joanne M. Harris, and I think this collection of folktales in her dreamy writing style is the perfect spring read!
During the first few years you still get reading time during nap time 😉
The Invisible Library is a lot of fun. I will be reading the last book out in the series soon.

Congratulations on your first child!! The Expanse is such a great series. I don’t remember one book being the stand out as ‘the bad’ one or anything, so I think you’re good to keep reading with high expectations!

Thank you!! Yes I’ve enjoyed all the books in the series so far, I just worry what the poor characters will have to go through. I have seen the TV show but I know the books do some things differently. I’m excited though!

Everytime I look at someone’s TBR, I am reminded of just how many books there are out there! I hope you enjoy all your books – Honeycomb in particular looks fantastic!

I love that title and cover of City of Last Chances. I haven’t heard of it, but it sounds fantastic. My TTT here: https://nishitak.com/2023/03/14/top-ten-tuesday-books-on-my-spring-to-read-list/
